Steve Mahre

Steve Mahre was a member of the US Ski Team from 1975 to 1985 during which he won 4 national titles in the slalom (1975, 1980, 1981 and 1984).  The younger of the famous Mahre twins he combined with his brother Phil to lead the US Ski Team through a glorious period and raised the level of American competitive skiing as a consequence.

Steve was a three time Olympian and was a silver medalist at the 1984 Olympic Games in Sarajevo.  His brother Phil took the gold medal for a rare 1-2 brother punch.  A member of two World Championship Teams he won the Giant Slalom world title in Schladming, AUT in 1982.
