Anna McIntyre

Anna McIntyre provided extraordinary leadership as an alpine skiing official and took the lead to bring snowboarding into the official competitive arenas of the FIS and the IOC.

She was the first woman to be certified as a Chief of Race and the first woman to be Chief of Race at World Cup alpine events.  She was known and respected for running successful World Cup events and amassed and trained an outstanding group of volunteers to get the job done.  In the 1990's she brought snowboarding into the USSA as a competitive program and chaired its snowboard committee.  She then worked hard to get approval of snowboarding by the FIS in 1994 which then opened the door for its acceptance on the Olympic program.
