Tamara McKinney

Tamara McKinney was a leader of American women skiers in the 1980's.  She won back to back World Cup slalom races on December 1st and 2nd in 1982 and then went on to win the first U.S. overall world Cup title in 1983.  That year she was named Skier of the Year.

During her career she won 18 World Cup races and was first in the World Cup giant slalom standings in 1981 and 1983.  She was first in the World Cup slalom standings in 1984.  At the World Championships in 1989 she won a gold medal for combined results and a bronze in the slalom.
