Like his younger brother, Hermod, Magnus Bakke was instrumental in building and promoting the famous 90M ski jumping hill at Leavenworth, Washington. He spent years coaching young ski jumpers in the Leavenworth Ski Club. He coached and served as a certified ski jumping official for 39 years including service at the 1960 Olympic Winter Games in Squaw Valley. His contributions included designing and building the 18M and 30M jumps at the Mission Ridge Ski Area in Wenatchee, Washington and developing junior programs there as well.
