Carl Tellefsen was a great visionary and leader who was the force behind the formation of the National Ski Association in 1905. He served as its founding president until his death in 1908. A native of Trondheim Norway he had been the founding president of his birthplace's famous ski club. For his contribution he was the first person to be accorded Honored Membership in the U.S. National Ski Hall of Fame and Museum.
