Art Tokle was a two time national ski jumping champion (1951 and 1953) and a two time Olympian.. He immigrated from Norway in 1947 and competed at a very high level throughout the 1950's. He was selected to the US Olympic team for the 1960 games when he was 38 years old.
He was also a member of the U.S. FIS team in 1950, 1954 and 1958. Tokle was among a small group of ski jumpers that could claim to be a three time winner of the Brattleboro Outing Club's Winged Trophy.
He was the younger brother of the great Torger Tokle who was the premier ski jumper in the United States prior to World War Two.
