Steve Bradley was a major contributor to the developing ski industry in Colorado and made significant contributions on the national scene. A graduate of Dartmouth University where he had been a successful four-way competitor on its ski team, he completed his studies at the University of Colorado where he had also served as the unpaid ski team coach. Employed at Winter Park he applied creative solutions to the design of its buildings. He pioneered slope grooming design concepts that made many regard him as the Father of Slope Maintenance. He served as president of the National Ski Areas Association and was a key organizer of Colorado Ski Country, which has successfully marketed Colorado's ski resorts to the world. He was a recipient of the NSAA's prestigious Halstead Award.
