Ernest Dion had an illustrious ski jumping career spanning 40-years, from 1932 to 1972.  He was a standout performer at the national, regional and state level. His titles include Class "B" Eastern Champion 1935, second in Class "A" the year following, 19 jumping titles from six states, and the Canadian Regional Championships at Lac Beau Porte, Quebec in 1949 and 1950. In his later career he was also a respected coach for Dartmouth College. 

In 1960, he accepted a position with Dartmouth Skis where he was on the cutting edge in the development of synthetic laminated skis. He made a foray into ski area development starting with Snow Crest Ski Area and was very involved with the makeover of Storrs Hill Ski Area in 1972.  He was a Charter Member of the Ski Industries of America (SIA).
